The world indigenous day which was celebrated yesterday the 9th of August 2018 at the federal capital territory, by the indigenes from the 9 tribes of FCT, featured prestigious guests which includes the lawmaker Sen. Shehu Sani representing Kaduna central senatorial district.
Sen Sani in his speech thanked the indigenes of FCT for still been United even after the federal Government has displaced them in their own land. “The people of FCT have made a huge sacrifice for Nigeria, it is no coincidence that God created you here, the whole country knows this is your home, and you have nowhere else to go. Any demands you make is not too much for Nigeria to give you.
While addressing the indigenes, he also acknowledged the fact that the rich cultural display from all the tribes, was a beautiful piece and should be held unto, he said “these display cannot be sustain if the Govt. keeps allocating lands on your homes, The people of FCT deserve their own minister and a statue in Nigeria.
He went ahead to make promises that “we will always work together, we will make your issue a national issue, indigenes of FCT should also be billionaires, people can come in and go, but you have nowhere else to go, whoever comes to Abuja is your guest, and will always be your guest.
The event that started from the FCT minister’s office FCDA had a turnover of over 500 participants including high stakeholders in FCT. Several other remarks were made at the event, as it all crowned with the paramount ruler who thanked the senator for honoring their invitation, and lending his voice, as he went ahead to make his remarks.
