The Original Inhabitants Development Association (OIDA) has kicked off a sensitization tour across the 17 chiefdoms of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to educate and mobilize natives on democratic participation, constitutional rights, and governance matters affecting Abuja’s indigenous people.
The tour, which began today in Bwari Chiefdom, seeks to raise awareness on critical issues such as the call for a second-tier government in the FCT, land ownership rights, and the creation of the Abuja Original Inhabitants Development Commission (AOIDC).
It will include discussions, interactive forums, and legal awareness programs designed to equip indigenous residents with the knowledge needed to actively participate in Nigeria’s democratic and governance processes.
Stakeholders and traditional leaders are being urged to join the initiative and work together in advancing the rights and welfare of Abuja’s original inhabitants.
