The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has scheduled a number of projects in Abuja for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commission in May, as part of activities marking his second year in office.
This was revealed by the FCT Minister during a media briefing after inspecting the 30.5-kilometre A2–Pai–Gomani Road in Kwali Area Council on Saturday.
According to him, President Tinubu will have “many completed projects to inaugurate” as part of the celebrations marking his administration’s two-year milestone.
“I will meet with the relevant officers to confirm the exact number of projects that will be ready for commissioning in May,” he said. “But one thing is certain — there will be numerous projects ready for inauguration during the President’s second anniversary.”
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the ongoing road construction.
“I want to commend the contractor, Zerberced, handling the A2–Pai section. I’m very impressed with the level of work. They have demonstrated competence, and this shows they’ll deliver on schedule. As I’ve always maintained, contracts will only go to companies that show capacity, not based on sentiment,” he stated.
He further explained that on the Pai–Gomani section, the contractor had already completed about 12 kilometres of earthwork, with bridge piling currently in progress.
“The progress might not be obvious until you reach the end of the village, but I’m confident they are still on schedule,” he added.
The Minister, however, urged the contractor to finish the earthworks before the rainy season begins, to avoid project delays.
