The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) is strengthening its cooperation with neighbouring Nasarawa State to enhance development and address security concerns, particularly in the area of road infrastructure.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike discussed these collaborative efforts during a meeting with Nasarawa State Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule.

“The issue of security is very important because anything that happens in Kogi, they will run down to F C T.
Anything that happens in Niger, Kaduna, Nasarawa, they run down here. So we must tackle the issue of security head-on. We can’t do it alone without support from Nasarawa, Kogi, and the other neighboring states,”
said Minister Wike.

The minister also expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Nasarawa government on their request to work on the Abacha road to Keffi and to construct a Metro Rail Line from Apo to Keffi.
“One of the problems we have here, I must tell you is the problem of award of contracts without conclusion. Metro line from Apo to Keffi is key, but very expensive. We will discuss further with you,”
Minister Wike stated.
Governor Abdullahi Sule emphasized the importance of collaboration, especially since many FCT workers reside in Nasarawa State.
“Close to 40 percent of those who work in FCT actually live in Nasarawa State. We have a lot of opportunities,”
Governor Sule mentioned.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Minister Wike to lead the FCT, expressing hope that Wike would replicate his successful governance from his time as the governor of Rivers State.
This collaboration aims to strengthen security and infrastructure in the region, benefiting both the FCT and Nasarawa State.
