The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has stepped up its enforcement against unlicensed medical facilities, as the Private Health Establishments Registration and Monitoring Committee (PHERMC) sealed off Dada’s Clinic & Maternity located in Kapwa, Gaube Community, Kuje Area Council.
The facility was closed for operating without proper registration and following allegations of unsafe medical practices that reportedly caused the death of a community elder.
This move follows the directive of the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, who has emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal healthcare operations in the capital.
According to the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka, the clinic’s operator, Mr. Sabiu, who claimed to be a health worker, has been arrested and handed over to the Kuje Police Division for further investigation.
